Frequently Asked Questions
How do I create an animated map for a YouTube video?
Select your countries or regions in KPI Studio, choose the map animation template, and export as MP4. Countries highlight in sequence as the video plays.
Can I show a travel route on the map?
Yes. KPI Studio supports path animations that trace routes between locations, making it easy to show journeys, expeditions, or logistics flows.
What is the difference between a country highlight map and a choropleth map?
A country highlight map shows selected countries in a single color, typically to mark presence or events. A choropleth map shades countries by intensity based on a data value, such as population or sales. KPI Studio focuses on highlight-style map animations for video.
Can I animate countries in a specific order or sequence?
Yes. You can group countries into animation phases so they highlight in sequence. For example, show Year 1 countries first, then Year 2, then Year 3. Each phase appears as a set, building the full geographic picture across the animation.
What aspect ratio works best for a map animation?
16:9 works well for a world map in a standard YouTube video. For mobile or social content, 1:1 or 9:16 can work if you crop to the relevant region rather than showing the full globe.
